After some concerts, the new line-up heads for the studio in january 1980. They need only one week for recording Robert's songs, and another week to mix them. Many of those songs had already been played live, so Robert knows exactly, how the new album shall sound - inspired by Nick Drake and Bowie's 'Low'.
Nach einigen Konzerten des neuen Line-Ups geht es im Januar in's Studio. In je einer Woche werden Robert's Songs eingespielt und abgemischt. Viele der Songs wurden bereits live gespielt, und Robert weiß genau, wie sich das neue Album anhören soll - inspiriert von Nick Drake und Bowie's 'Low'.
On March 23rd, the only live appearance of The Cult Hero takes place in the Marquee, London, and they play a top-ten-set from 1973! 'A Forest' / 'Another Journey By Train' is released on April 5th, followed by the first tour through America and an appearance in 'Top Of The Pops'. On April 26th '17 Seconds' is released and cracks the Top 20. It gets platinum while they're touring Australian clubs. But for Matthieu the sound gets too depressive, he gets more and more aggressive and leaves the band at the end of the tour. In September the trio starts to work on the next album, interrupted by another tour through Europe - every evening with another support, to give a chance to as many young bands as possible.
Am 23. März findet der einzige Auftritt als The Cult Hero im Londoner Marquee statt, und gespielt wird ein Top-Ten-Set von 1973! 'A Forest' / 'Another Journey By Train' erscheint am 5. April, gefolgt von der ersten Amerika-Tournee und einem Auftritt in 'Top Of The Pops'. Am 26. April erscheint '17 Seconds', knackt die Top 20 und wird während der folgenden Tour durch australische Clubs mit Platin prämiert. Doch Matthieu wird der Sound zu depressiv, er wird zunehmend aggressiv und verläßt am Ende der Tour die Band. Im September beginnt das Trio mit der Arbeit am nächsten Album, unterbrochen durch eine weitere Tour durch Europa - jeden abend mit anderem Support, um möglichst vielen jungen Bands eine Chance zu geben.
